3 Young Women Killed In Wreck On Hixson Pike
posted August 1, 2006

Three young women were killed in a grinding two-vehicle collision in the 6800 block of Hixson Pike on Tuesday night. A 62-year-old man in the second vehicle was injured.

The victims are Jennifer Marshall, 23; Mandy Rogers, 21, and Alisha Holmes, 20.

Hamilton County Sheriff's Traffic Investigator James Naylor said the vehicle occupied by the three young women was traveling in excess of the posted speed limit. He said there is no indication of drugs or alcohol being involved.

The man in the other vehicle, Clifford Cornutt, was being treated at Erlanger Medical Center. Officials said his injuries do not appear to be life threatening and he is expected to be released.

The investigation is continuing.

The wreck happened at 6:50 p.m. on Hixson Pike at West Pointe Drive.

Authorities said the three young women were in a four-door Mazda going south on Hixson Pike at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle apparently crossed the centerline, then slid as the northbound Jeep Cherokee driven by Mr. Cornutt approached. The Jeep t-boned the Mazda on the passenger side.

Mr. Cornutt and one of the young women were taken by LifeForce helicopter to Erlanger.

The other two young women were taken by ground ambulance, according to Sean Paul of WGOW Talk Radio.

Hixson Pike was closed for several hours.
