Mark Dunn of 7th Avenue said he awoke to find $6,000 was missing from his pants, which were beside his bed.
He also said a Game Cube system was missing from his living room.
Mr. Dunn said his front door was left unlocked and that morning it was wide open.
Mr. Dunn was highly irate that a detective was not coming out to take fingerprints. He said he was going to call Mayor Littlefield.
Rhonda Brooks said she received a phone call at work that her home on Roanoke Avenue was being broken into. She called 9-1-1 since she works in Lookout Valley.
Upon arrival, police found three broken windows. But no one was inside.
Cathy Miller of Crescent Circle said she was sleeping when she heard a loud crash. She got up and found someone had kicked in her front door and taken her purse.
The purse was hanging on a door that was visible from the front window, police said. It contained her driver's license and $6.
Betsy Lovelace of Wilson Street said someone stole jewelry out of her bedroom.
They got five gold rings ($600), four gold necklaces ($900), a gold watch ($90), a pair of earrings ($100) and a gold and diamond bracelet ($400).
A woman on Taylor Street said she woke up when she heard a loud noise in the back of her house. She ran to her kitchen and saw the back door had been kicked in. She ran outside and saw a white van driving off.
She said when she ran back into the kitchen she fell and hit her face, causing her nose to bleed.
She found that her purse had been taken. It had $1,000, checks and a bank card in it.
Cesar Zarco said he was at a stop sign at Foust and Rossville Boulevard when a black male approached him on a bike.
He said the man displayed a pair of scissors and placed them to his throat, then said, "Give me the money, Mexican." He said he handed over his wallet, which had $200 in it along with his identification.
Mr. Zarco said he then sped off in his truck, dragging the suspect's bike along with him.
Police said the glass door was broken out at a business at 5032 Brainerd Road. The alarm was ripped from the wall.
The owner, Marsha Bain, said she had left the restaurant earlier. She said $60 in rolled change was missing from a drawer.
The head of a sledge hammer was found near the broken glass.
Stanley Brock of Flowers Direct called police to report that a black male was trying to break out a door window of one of their delivery trucks.
Mr. Brock said he looked out and saw the man with a brick in his hand trying to break the window. He then ran off.
A man from Spears Avenue said he was in his yard when a 10-year-old came up behind him and took his wallet out of his pocket.
He said $149 was in the wallet.
James Rogers of Crestwood Drive said a white male with reddish hair dressed nice came to his home and asked to test drive a Suzuki motorcycle that he had for sale. He said he has not seen the motorcycle since.
He said the man was in a blue Buick Regal with a Blount County tag and had a heavy-set woman with dark hair with him.
Sandra Manson said a Rottweiller attacked her and dragged her into a ditch in the back of 1208 Scholar Ave.
She said the dog bit her on the leg. Another woman, Tiffany Lee, said the dog also attacked her.
A doctor said it appeared the dog's teeth did not puncture the skin.
Police took the dog into custody, but were unable to locate the owner.
Linda Hayes said her husband, Harold "Bo" Hayes was walking back from the grocery when he was struck in the back of the head.
Mr. Hayes, who was taken by ambulance to Memorial Northpark, said he did not see his assailant. He said he drank four beers earlier in the day, but was not intoxicated at the time.
Officials of Parkridge Hospital said a wheelchair was stolen from the front entrance.
They said the last person seen in the wheelchair was a man with one leg and long blonde hair.
Police went to the man's last known address, but he was not there.
