Forrest Cate Golf Classic Benefits Juvenile Diabetes Research posted September 12, 2006 Golf enthusiasts of all ages are invited to join the East Tennessee Branch of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation for a day on the links, all to benefit those with type 1 diabetes at the 26th Annual Forrest Cate Golf Classic. The tournament will be Friday, Sept. 29, at WindStone Golf Club in Ringgold. Presented by Forrest Cate Motor Company, individual players can participate at $125 per person or $500 per foursome. The tournament has almost reached its participant limit. Contact the East TN JDRF branch for more information about player and sponsorship opportunities. JDRF was founded in 1970 by the parents of children with juvenile diabetes – a disease that strikes children suddenly, makes them insulin dependent for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications. Since inception, JDRF has provided more than $900 million to diabetes research worldwide. More than 80 percent of JDRF’ expenditures directly support research and education about research. JDRF’s mission is constant: to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. |
