No One Injured In House Fire In East Lake posted October 5, 2006
The Chattanooga Fire Department received the alarm at 4:35 p.m. and responded with four fire companies to 4102 12th Avenue. Captain Lloyd Jones with Engine 9 said flames were visible at the rear of the house when they arrived on the scene. The firefighters quickly attacked the flames with several hand-held hoselines and got the blaze under control in roughly 15 minutes. Captain Jones estimated the loss at $60,000 for the building and its contents. The owner of the property said no one was living in the house and he was using it for storage. He added that vagrants had been known to stay in the house overnight. The cause of the fire is undetermined and under investigation.
