Realtor Al Cannon Dies In House Fire On Clark Road posted October 22, 2006
The victim was Al Cannon, a well-known realtor and businessman in the Highway 58 area. The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office is investigating the fatal house fire at 5614 Clark Road. The first sheriff's unit was dispatched at 9:39 p.m. on a report of a house fire. The Highway 58 Volunteer Department as well as Hamilton County EMS responded. Upon arrival, the house was completely engulfed in flames. The fire department began trying to put the fire out and learned that there may be a victim inside. Due to the intense fire, as well as the close proximity of another home, firefighters had to continue with a defensive attack on the fire. Once they were able to go inside, they did find the victim on the floor in a bedroom. The cause of the fire will be investigated by the sheriff's office. The cause of death will be investigated by the Medical Examiner's office. Mr. Cannon was also a lay Presbyterian pastor. He had celebrated his 85th birthday last Sunday. He is survived by three children, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
