Corker Barnstorming Across State On Election Eve
posted November 6, 2006

U.S. Senate candidate Bob Corker, barnstorming across Tennessee on the day before the election, greeted supporters at Coolidge Park at 1 p.m. - after the crowd was warmed up by Rep. Zach Wamp, Georgia Sen. Saxby Chambliss and Sens. Lamar Alexander and Bill Frist.

The former Chattanooga mayor told the crowd the Tennessee Senate election "will decide the direction, in some ways, the country will take."

He said he believes "I more fully represent the values of the people of this state."

Corker, who started out the day in the Tri-Cities and Knoxville and was moving on to Nashville and Memphis, told the Chattanooga crowd, "This is where I derived my strength, and I want you to know I'll never forget where I came from."

Sen. John McCain was along on the first two legs of the Corker bus trip.

Corker will be visiting polling locations in East Tennessee on Election Day, starting in the Tri-Cities and ending up at home in Chattanooga.

Corker voted in Chattanooga on the first day of early voting, Oct. 18, along with his wife Elizabeth, mother Jean and a crowd of supporters.
