Covenant Church Blood Drive To Benefit Neuroblastoma Patient
posted December 11, 2006

Madison Hight looks forward to baking cookies for Santa and anticipating his visit on Christmas Eve like any other 4-year-old. However, unlike other children, Madison will have to spend the holidays in and out of the hospital.

Madison is battling neuroblastoma cancer, the third most common form of childhood cancer. She was diagnosed with the cancer on July 11, 2005, and a few days later doctors determined a cancerous mass was in Madison’s abdomen and that the cancer was also in her bones and bone marrow. She has undergone rounds of chemotherapy, but the battle is still raging in her little body.

Covenant Church, 9259 Hixson Pike, will host a blood drive in honor of Madison on Friday from 4:30-8:30 p.m. The church invites the community to attend the blood drive and donate in honor of Madison.

“My wish this season is that everyone will make a difference by giving the gift of life,” Blood Assurance Donor Recruiter Amber Brown said. “It takes so little time to give blood and it is such a small amount compared to Madison’s battle.”

If you are interested in donating in honor of Madison, please contact Pastor Adam Clagg at adamclagg@gmail.com or Blood Assurance at (423) 752-8461.
