Collegedale Furniture Firm Phasing Out Local Operations

The operations of a Collegedale furniture firm are being phased out due to the down economy, officials said Monday. ALC-College is a manufacturer of laboratory furniture and equipment, including casework, storage cabinets and fume hoods for science, education, industrial and healthcare. Incentium Has Layoffs Due To Soft Economy

The Chattanooga-based Incentium firm has had to lay off 25-30 employees, officials confirmed. CEO Richard Char said employees were told of the reduction in force last Thursday. He said it was "due to the soft economy. Companies are cutting back and so we have fewer orders for our employee incentive programs."
