Housing Authority Going Ahead With Fairmount Apartments

The Chattanooga Housing Authority board voted Friday to proceed on the controversial Fairmount Avenue apartments, though a number of North Chattanooga residents and Mayor Ron Littlefield oppose it. The board, with no discussion, voted to pay the Hefferlin and Kronenberg firm $284,170 to draw up plans for the project. 4 Chattanooga Post Offices Remain On Closure List

The U.S. Postal Service has updated the list of retail stations and branches that remain under review for possible consolidation, with only 241 offices still under review. The four Chattanooga postal stations up for closure remain on the list. They are: East Lake Station, 2600 E 34th St. Highland Park Station, 511 S. Hawthorne Murray Lake Hills Station, 4420 Oakwood Dr. North Station, 124 N. A new Habitat for Humanity home at 1607 Olive St. was started for a grateful Michelle Moore and her children Thursday morning. The project is dedicated by the Hullander family to the memory of Chris Horne, who was killed in a car accident soon after marrying Mandy Hullander, daughter of County Commissioner Bill Hullander and sister of Hullco president Matt Hullander.
