Kenneth "Brian" McRae, 36, of Woodbine, Ga., died on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003.
A native of Ft. Oglethorpe, Mr. McRae had resided in Camden County for the past nine years. He was a 1984 graduate of Dalton High School and attended Valdosta State University.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Kingsland, the Men's Bible Class, and a member of the Emmaus Community. He retired from the U.S. Navy with 14 years of service as a Nuclear Machinist Mate 1st Class MM1(SS). He served on the U.S.S. James Madison, U.S.S. Holland, U.S.S. Kentucky Blue, and served his country during Desert Storm.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Tindall McRae of Woodbine; children, Hannah Corinne McRae, Joshua Brooks McRae, Bradford Parker McRae, William Sheffield McRae, all of Woodbine; parents, Kenneth and Ginger McRae of Dalton, Sharon and Bo Mann of Dalton; brothers, LCDR Gregory Ellis (Kim)McRae of Groton, CT, Bartley Eric (Leigh Ann) Mann of Dalton, Samuel Craig McRae of Ringgold; sister, Tara Faye McRae of Ringgold; grandparents, Nettie Sue McRae of LaFayette, Joye Parker Ellis of Dalton, Alfred and Dene Mann of Tunnel Hill; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in National Cemetery with full military honors.
Rev. Danny Cochran will officiate.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the McRae Fund at Southeast Community Church, 107-A Industrial Dr., St. Marys, Ga. 31558.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home, Rossville.
