Arthur Jay Hitchcock Jr., 93, of Red Bank, died Sunday, July 4, 2004, at Health Center at Standifer Place.
He was a member of St. Elmo Presbyterian Church and attended Red Bank Presbyterian Church.
He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1968. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp in the 1930s and had worked in the Smokey Mountains.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy H. Liang; a grandson, Bruce Evan Hitchcock; sister, Geraldine Musser; and three brothers, George, John and Edward.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie K. Hitchcock; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Wanda P. Hitchcock, Lookout Valley; brother, Bill Hitchcock and wife, Mary Lou, East Brainerd; grandsons, Jonathan Liang and wife, Jennifer, St. Paul, Minn., C. Mitchell Hitchcock and wife, Shelley, Lookout Valley; granddaughters, Deborah Liang and husband, Matt Tillotson, St. Paul, Minn., Laura Hemminger and husband, Kurt, Dunellen, N.J.; son-in-law and wife, Clarence and Sue Liang, Holland, Mich.; several great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Cal Boroughs, the Rev. Everett Gossett and the Rev. Lamar Moore officiating.
Interment will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
