John Melvin Jackson found eternal peace on Sunday, October 9, 2005.
He was a long time resident of the Chattanooga area and was of the Baptist faith. He was a Wheland Foundry retiree and Vietnam veteran.
Melvin is survived by his mother, Thelma Jackson; father, Hubert (Katie) Jackson; three loving and devoted children, Aaron (Corita) Wallace; April (Terrance) Tumlin and Taffany Jackson, of Chattanooga; five grandchildren, Daisha, Terrance, Alexis, Tyrone and Tyasia; two brothers, Hubert Jackson Jr. of Chattanooga and Jerome (Ursula) Jackson of Tacoma, WA; two sisters, Jannie Pearl Hardaway of Luthersville, GA, and Doris (Kenneth) Amos of Atlanta, GA.
Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, at New Monumental Baptist. Interment will be in National Cemetery.
Family hour will be Thursday from 6–7 p.m. at the McCallie Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Directors.
