Albert Lester Smith, Sr., 82, of Red Bank, died Monday, July 11, 2005 in a local healthcare facility.
He was a member of the Red Bank United Methodist Church and the Carver-Tarwater Sunday School Class.
He retired from Lorain Company and was a Navy veteran of World War II, having served on the USS Midway.
He was the son the late Damie and Murphy D. Smith. He was brother of the late Harry, Robert and William Smith, Margaret Cates, Evelyn Caldwell, Eleanor Smith and Avis Byers.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Jo Shipley Smith; one son, Al Smith, Jr. and his wife Brenda Smith; and brothers, Leonard and Murphy Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lane Funeral Home, Coulter Chapel with Rev. Rick Spell officiating. Interment will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park. The Carver-Tarwater Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Lane Funeral Home, Coulter Chapel, 601 Ashland Terrace.
