Martin Richard Coplon, a resident of Chattanooga, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006.
He was born in St. Louis, MO, the son of the late Jacob and Frieda Mitman Coplon.
He was in customer service in the carpet industries for many years, having worked at Coronet Carpets in Dalton, GA, for 31 years.
He attended Saint Louis University. He was a member of Mizpah Congregation. He was an Air Force veteran and a member of the 571st Air Force Band from St. Louis. He had been a member of the American Legion in Houston, TX, and was a coach for Little League Baseball in East Ridge for years.
He is survived by his wife, Merna Mangham Coplon, Chattanooga; sister, Barbara Gordon, St. Louis; three sons, Marc Coplon, Chattanooga, Mahlon Coplon, Colleyville, TX, and Mitchell Coplon, Claremore, OK; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; many wonderful cousins and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, at 11 a.m. in Mizpah Temple with Rabbi Joshua Lief officiating. Burial will be Friday in St. Louis.
