James Edward Stinson, 87, of Chattanooga, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006, at St. Barnabas Nursing Home.
He was a member of Antioch P.B. Church. He retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Company after 30 years. He was one of the primary volunteers for the Chattanooga Human Services Department.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, W. Pearl Stinson of Chattanooga; children, Katie Dumas, Barnesville, GA, James (Vicki) Stinson, Omaha, NE, Willie (Neva) Stinson, Wanda Y. Cochran, Cheryl (Bennie) Graham, of Chattanooga, and Tracey Madison, of Newport News, FL; grandchildren, Derrick (Camille) Stinson, Pamela Stinson, Phoenix, AZ, Zacherie and Charity Stinson, Omaha, NE, Thelma and James (Michelle) Dumas, Barnesville, GA, Menyika (William) McGhee, Fishersville, VA, Michael Stinson, Nashville, Mecole (Eric) King, Shametrice Douglas, LaChandra (Tony) Brown, Tiquisia McClure, Althea (Anthony) Flemister, Derek, LaShundra and Jaylen Stinson, all of Chattanooga, Martel Graham, Clarksville, TN; 18 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, at Antioch P.B. Church with Elder James L. Leslie and other ministers officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
Viewing will be at the church one hour prior to services. The family will receive friends from 7–8 p.m. Thursday at the McCallie Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Directors.
