Clara Whaley Wilson, 91, of Ft. Oglethorpe, died Thursday, February 2, 2006 in NHC Rossville.
She was born in Cullman County, Alabama to the late Retter and Albert Whaley. Formerly a resident of Birmingham, she and her late husband, Sammie Wilson, moved to Fort Oglethorpe 16 years ago.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Avis Whaley and Alton (Billy) Whaley, and sister Valine Trapp.
She is survived by her son, Albert Roland Wilson (Barbara), Rossville; granddaughters, Diana Brown, Rossville, Donna Blake, Four Oaks, NC, and Debbie Gass, Chattanooga, TN; great-grandchildren, Summer Stephens, Aaron Brown, Amanda Brown, Kerri Gass, Kayla Gass, Katie Gass and great-great grandson, Hunter Stephens; her sisters, Nell Stricklin and Lesilee Welch of Jasper, AL, Joyce Turner and Elline Trapp; brothers, Ardis Whaley and Avern (Buddy) Whaley, all of Cullman, AL.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to NHC Rossville and their caregivers, the Fidelis Class at Lakeview First Baptist Church, and Hospice.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville, AL, with visitation at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday.
