Irene Echternach, a longtime resident of Strasburg, Pa., died on August 16th after a brief illness. She was 80 years old.
Irene was born in Strasburg, the daughter of the late John and Nora Zander Echternach. She attended the former Strasburg High School.
Irene retired from Novelty Brush Company, and spent much of her later years caring for her aging mother. Irene was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg and she enjoyed bowling, board games and puzzles.
Since May of 2000, Irene resided in Chattanooga Tn. with her sister and her nephew's family.
Irene is survived by her sister, Ruth; nephew, Mitchell M. and his wife Janet, and two great nephews.
She was preceded in death by a niece, Gwen.
Memorial services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg on Monday, at 10:30 a.m.
