Carthorn, Eula Mae "Madear"

Eula Mae "Madear" Carthorn, 90, of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006.

Mrs. Carthorn was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Ernest Carthorn Sr., and children, Daisy M. Jennings, Ernest Carthorn Jr. and Barbara A. Fuller.

She is survived by one sister, Eldora Wofford; five children, Christine (Jimmy) Ingram Sr., Ora L. Bedford, Iris F. Carthorn, Robert M. Carthorn and Richard (LaTanya) Carthorn, all of Chattanooga; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Olivet Baptist Church (Old Sanctuary), 751 E. M.L. King Jr. Blvd., with the Rev. Jimmy Ingram officiating. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.

The family has received personal and professional services from Franklin-Strickland Funeral Directors.
