Beginning this fall, Chattanooga State’s popular Commercial Truck Driving Program (CDL) expands its operation into the Kimball area. To celebrate this new program expansion, area residents are invited to attend a Pre-Hire Fair at Chattanooga State Kimball on Sept. 7, beginning at 5 p.m. CST.
The Pre-Hire event is sponsored by U.S. Xpress, a major trucking company headquartered in Chattanooga which will be on hand to assist students seeking help with tuition costs. Workforce Investment Act (W.I.A.) personnel housed at the Kimball site also will be in attendance to advise students who would like to apply and work through the career center for funding to take the program.
The seven-and-a-half week CDL program meets Monday thru Friday between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Classes are set to begin on Oct. 23.
