St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church on Signal Mountain observed St. Francis’ Day with a Blessing of the Animals service on the front lawn of the church on Sunday, Oct. 5.

95 parishioners plus pets attended the event that is held each year at this time. Parish rector, the Rev. George Choyce and Deacon Peter Kanyi blessed the dogs, cats, and gerbils as their owners came forward during the service.

Regular Sunday services are held at St. Timothy’s 630 Mississippi Ave., Signal Mountain at 8 a.m. in the Chapel, 9 a.m. on the lawn, weather permitting, and 11 a.m. in the Nave.
