A pedestrian was killed and a motorcyclist was injured in a wreck on the Market Street Bridge on Thursday night.

Vincent S Proffitt, 18, was riding his motorcycle across the Market Street Bridge when he lost control of his bike and struck 50-year-old Judy Bradford as she was crossing from the east to the west side of the bridge.

Ms. Bradford was pronounced dead on the scene.

Proffitt was taken to Erlanger Hospital for head trauma. His current condition is unknown.

Police said they are considering drugs, alcohol and speed as contributing factors. However, charges are pending blood test results.

According to witnesses, the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on a sport bike on the Market Street Bridge about 9:30 p.m. when Proffitt lost control of the vehicle

Traffic investigators reconstructed the scene to determine what happened.

The Market Street Bridge was closed for several hours until measurements were completed.
