UTC's Dr. Beth Dodd Receives Grant To Continue Professional Development Program

Dr. Beth Dodd, UTC director of Continuing Education, and Ms. Ginny Reese, associate director of Continuing Education, have received a Vocational Education Basic Grant of $16,354 from the Tennessee Department of Education.

This grant enables Dr. Dodd and the Continuing Education staff to continue to provide professional development services for area health science teachers.

Dr. Dodd and her staff will conduct a series of workshops that will equip middle and high school teachers to prepare their students for careers in the health sciences.

Participating teachers will engage in group discussions, teaching scenarios, and role-playing activities. Topics such as rehabilitative therapies, anatomy and physiology, biomedical applications, and forensic science will be addressed.
