Catherine Plumlee, 97, died on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009.
Mrs. Plumlee was born on Sept. 1, 1912, in Harrison, Ga., and spent most of her life in Ringgold, living at her home on Nashville Street for 65 years. Although she loved life, she passed away secure in the knowledge that in death, as in life, she belonged to the Lord.
Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren loved her very much and will miss her telling stories of when she was young. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and neighbors, to whom she was so loving and generous. Her flower gardens created much joy and beauty for all to see.
Mrs. Plumlee was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Plumlee; daughter, Marian Master; son, Robert Plumlee; sons-in-law, Harry Griffin, Roy Goodson, Claude Anderson and Johnny Master.
Survivors include daughters, Reba Goodson, Kay Griffin and Johanna Anderson; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Terry Bryant, Phil Pridgen, Wayne Knight, Andy Anderson, Ted Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be O.J. Jolley, Hoke Cantrell, David Anderson and the Senior Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28, at Wilson Funeral Home, Wallis-Stewart Chapel, in Ringgold.
Services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 28, at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Old Anderson Cemetery.
