Ruth Swafford Carpenter, 90, died at her home on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009.
She was a member of Summer City Baptist Church and retired from Robinson Manufacturing.
Preceding her in death were her first husband, Jim Swafford; son-in-law, Raymond Smith; two daughter-in laws, Reva and Nettie Swafford; grandson, Chris Swafford; two great-grandsons, Thomas and Nicholas Swafford; sister, Lois Swafford; brothers, Clarence and James Rothwell.
Survivors include her husband, Tommy Carpenter, Pikeville; children, Virginia (Red) McGee, Cookeville, Irene Smith, Knoxville; Shirley (Steve) Hixson, Dayton, Mack (Trudy) Swafford, Pikeville, Tom (Barbara) Swafford, Randall (Patsy) Swafford, Pikeville, Gary (Yvonne) Swafford, Pikeville, Vivian (Randy) Wooden, Pikeville, Donna (Ken) Iriar, Hixson, Jerry (Loretta) Carpenter, Hixson, Nancy Carpenter, Warner Robins, Ga.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Gladys Wallace, Crossville, Ruby Doss, Hixson, Jewell Mcclure, Dayton; brothers, Harold Rothwell, Michigan, Bud Rothwell, Dayton, Caulie Rothwell, Pikeville.
Services will be on Wednesday at 1 p.m. CST in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will follow in Summer City Cemetery.
