Carla Ruth Shirley Strickland, 60, of Birchwood, Tn. died on Monday, April 27, 2009, at her residence.
She was the daughter of the late Charles “Chili” Bunch and Ruth Welch and was preceded in death by her husband, Norvell “Lee” Strickland.
She was of the Christian faith.
Carla had a tremendous love for her children, grandchildren and dog “Lil Bit."
Survivors include her four children, Lee (Paige) Strickland, of Cleveland, Tn., Jimmy (Tina) Strickland, of Hixson, Tn., Tammy (C. L.) McDowell, of Decatur, Tn., Charles Strickland, of Dalton, Ga.; ten grandchildren, Megan Strickland, Brandon Strickland, Tyler Hatmaker, Victoria Strickland, James David Strickland, Tyler Strickland, Lauren Strickland, Shelby Strickland, Blake McDowell, Seba McDowell; brother, Marion B. Jones, of Houston, Tx., and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Bald Hill Cemetery in Birchwood, Tn.
The family will receive friends from 4–8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
