St. Francis Day Blessing Of The Animals Is Oct. 4

St. Francis Day Blessing of the Animals will be held on Sunday, Oct. 4, from 1:30-4 p.m.

Admission is free and all faiths are welcome.

The event will include a petting zoo (including lambs, sheep, baby goats, chicks, ducks, bunnies and pigs); a parade of animals at 2 p.m.; blessing of the animals at 2:30 p.m. as well as free pet portraits and free pet medals for the animals.

There will be exhibits including: McKamey Animal Center and The Chattanooga Zoo, free pony rides, a release of doves, animal day care and boarding exhibits, blessing of animals that have passed away or are unable to attend, free dog wash, music, storytelling and face painting, and a kindermusic workshop.

St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church Campus is located at 7555 Ooltewah-Georgetown Road. For more information call 238-7708.
