A man sought for the robbery of a Ringgold bank on Friday morning was caught after a high-speed chase on Interstate 75.

Police said the cash taken in the holdup at the Capital Bank was recovered.

Explosive experts were checking out what was described as a “suspicious device taped to a cell phone” that the man left inside the bank. Authorities blew up the device.

The man, identified as William Charles Allen, had driven a white van with Louisiana tags northbound on I-75 before crashing along the shoulder.

Allen, who had dyed his hair pink, is charged with making terroristic threats, aggravated assault and armed robbery.
