Nicki Mears
Nicki Stone Mears, 50, of Chattanooga, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer.
Mrs. Mears was born in Fort Belvoir, Va., to Clifford Stone and the former Janet Lindsey. She was a member of Brainerd United Methodist Church where she belonged to the Open Door Sunday School Class, and was retired from Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Jim; mother, Janet (Charles) Price of Ringgold; brother, Terry Stone of Superior, Az.; daughter, Amanda (Matt) Moulthrop and their daughter Reed, of Marietta, Ga.; son, Marcus Mann of Chickamauga; stepson, Joe Mears of Chattanooga; stepdaughter, Kate (Gary) Crowe and their son Jack, of East Ridge; stepbrother, Stephen Price; stepsister, Connie (Perry) Mooney; and best friend, Lisa Martin.
Nicki was preceded in death by her father, Cliff Stone and brother, Dee Stone.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 11, at the funeral home with Rev. Genevieve DeHoog officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. on Thursday and from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 14, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
If preferred, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37416, Attn: Foundation.
Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 404 South Moore Road.
