The Urban League of Greater Chattanooga in partnership with Re:Start will host a TABE testing session on Tuesday. The sessions are open to anyone interested and positions are still available for the December session. TABE tests are taken before the GED exam in order to determine if a student is ready to test for their GED. Re:Start, The Center for Adult Education, has partnered with the Urban League in order to promote ongoing adult education, creating a positive economic impact in the community.
The Test for Adult Basic Education (TABE) is required for anyone seeking to earn a GED.
TABE test results determine whether a participant is required to complete a test preparation class or immediately go on to complete the GED test. The TABE sessions held at the Urban League headquarters will be administered and reviewed by Re:Start.
“The Chattanooga Urban League’s goal is to promote and support positive programs that strive to enhance our community, such as assisting in adults pursuing higher education,” says Warren Logan, President and CEO. “The TABE testing sessions are a great way to offer adults a chance at higher education, which leads to access to better jobs giving a boost to the local economy.”
The Urban League will offer TABE testing sessions once per month for those interested in obtaining a GED. Spots for the December session are still available. The next TABE test will be held at the Urban League headquarters on MLK Boulevard on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. For more information on TABE testing sessions or to sign up please contact Alysia Najjar or Mary Edwards with the Urban League at 756-1762.
