Some unique Chattanooga-made terrariums are among the items on display at the summer Chatty Crafty at the Chattanooga Green.
The show, featuring 90 vendors from 14 states, continues on Sunday. Hours are 10-6.
Desiree Pillsbury and Angelina Cebrian have been working in recent weeks to put out a new collection of the late 1800s horticultural art form.
Desiree said the business came about after she fixed up some terrariums as table decorations for a baby shower. She said the guests liked them so much that they wanted to buy them, and she sold four.
Her friend, Angelina, was intrigued by the art form as well and began making her own terrariums.
The miniature creations by the pair were so well received that they decided to launch Ophelia Terrariums.
The summer edition of Chatty Crafty is their first show.
Desiree, a senior graphic designer, said they get their plants from all over and they are also on a constant lookout for unique glasses or dishes as a base for the tiny worlds. "It's a good excuse to go antiquing," she said.
Angelina, a copywriter, said, "I don't have a green thumb. But these are hard to kill."
