Melvin Hickman
Melvin “Mutt” Hickman, 67, of Rossville, died on Saturday, January 7, 2012, surrounded by family and friends.
Mr. Hickman was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area. He was a long haul truck driver for over 30 years having driven for Shaw, Burlington, and Saia Trucking.
He was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church, the Harvesters Sunday School Class, and the Knights of Pythias.
His passions in life were his church, family, being an avid Alabama fan, his dog Prissy, his red T-Bird, visiting Dodd Brothers, and his grandson, Tyler “Little Buddy.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold “Wence” and Lorena Hickman.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Charlotte Hickman; two daughters, Jill Silvey and her fiancé, Eddie Baldwin of Ringgold and April Hickman of Rossville; brother, Edward “Pistol” (Carolyn) Hickman of Ringgold; grandson, Tyler Millians of Rossville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 10, at 2 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Jim Bennett and Reverend Joe Dodd officiating. Entombment will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 9, from 4-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.
