Jenkins, Ivy Lowe (Delano)

Ivy Lowe Jenkins, 81, of Delano, Tn., died Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the family residence.

Mrs. Jenkins is a native of Greasey Creek. She was of the Baptist faith and she was loved by all. 

Mrs. Jenkins was the daughter of the late James H. Lowe and Betty Wright Lowe; and was also preceded in death by her sister, Dallie Lowe Morfield; brother-in-law, Bill Morfield; brother, Deyo Lowe; sisters, Mildred Lowe Gurly, Arvie Lowe; two infant sisters; and loving grandson, Todd. 

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Will Jenkins; daughter, Audrey Stewart and husband Benny; son, Eddy Jenkins; two loving granddaughters, Chasity and Ashley Jenkins; sister-in-law, Genora Jenkins, all of Delano; brother-in-law, Homer Gurly of Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews; a host of friends; and her beloved cat, Pooh. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 28, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Ray Swallows and the Reverend Jerry Walden officiating. Interment will follow in Delano Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. 

Her family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, February 27, at the Higgins Funeral Home who has charge of the arrangements.
