Teen Charged In Home Invasion On Agnes Avenue

A 19-year-old Chattanooga youth has been charged with breaking into a home and robbing two men at gunpoint.

Marvin Vinson Lee, who lives on Polk Drive, was charged with aggravated robbery. 

Police said at around 12:06 p.m. last Thursday, Lee broke into the Westmoreland family’s residence on Agnes Avenue and pointed a black, semi-automatic handgun at Jimmy and William Westmoreland, demanding money. Lee took Jimmy Westmoreland’s wallet and William Westmoreland’s cellphone before he fled from their home.

Chattanooga police found and arrested Lee on Amnicola Highway the following day at around 12:30 p.m. After his arrest, he was taken to the police station for questioning. The officers read Lee his rights, and afterward he confessed on tape to home invasion and robbery.

Bail was set at $25,000.

Agnes Avenue is near Wilcox Boulevard.
