Wilma Jean “Sis” Goode, 80, of McDonald, TN, passed away on Wednesday night, December 25, 2013 at her home.
She was born in Cleveland, TN on May 7, 1933 to the late Roy Thomas & Ada Marie Sherlin; and was also preceded in death by her husband, James A. Goode; one son, Billy Joe LeRoy Jr.; and one brother, Thomas Thedore “Pete” Sherlin.
She is survived by seven daughters, Wilma Jo (Joe) Cole of Dalton, GA, Marilyn (Wayne) Murphy of Harrison, TN, Darlene McDaniel, Nancy (Charles) Burchfield both of Cleveland, TN, Kathy (Joe) Bean of Decatur, TN, Sarah LeRoy of Ooltewah, TN and Shelia (Darryl) Sanders of Dayton, TN; four sons, Roy LeRoy of Tiftonia, TN, Anthony (Kelly) LeRoy of Birchwood, TN, Ricky LeRoy also of Birchwood, TN and Shane (Jessica) LeRoy of McDonald, TN; one sister, Oneida Earls; two brothers, Carl Sherlin and Gerlad (Faye) Sherlin both of McDonald, TN; one sister-in-law, Brenda “Top” Sherlin, eight step- children; 41 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; numerous other extended family members; and a host of special friends.
A celebration of her life is planned for Saturday, December 28 at 2 p.m. at the Bancroft Church of God located at 180 Bancroft Road in McDonald, TN with Pastor Bud Stiltner and Pastor Paul Bowman officiating. Interment will follow in the Lee Cemetery with Paul Smith, Jack Cantrell, Tommy Green, Blake Harden, Daniel Bean and Johnny Payne serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, December 28 from 12-2 p.m.
