McCallie Senior Honored For Community Service

Grant Gordon was recognized for community service in his hometown of Tyler, Texas.

McCallie senior boarding student Grant Gordon received the Gertrude Windsor Distinguished Service Award in his hometown of Tyler, Texas.

This award is presented to members of the Junior Symphony League who distinguish themselves by completing more than 50 hours of community service in efforts to improve their community. 

The son of Charley and Kimberly Gordon of Tyler, Grant’s senior year is also his first year at McCallie. Prior to enrolling at the school, he worked with the East Texas Symphony on weekends once a month and helped staff events.

He also worked at music education workshops for children and at performances by the Tyler Youth Orchestra.

The award honors Mrs. W.C. “Gertrude” Windsor, a founder of the Women’s Symphony League of Tyler.
