Robert Calcagno's Village at Dusk
Robert Calcagno began his career as a litigator in Atlanta nearly 30 years ago. He transformed his talents from the courtroom to the canvas and for the past decade, his painting has identified him as America’s own “French Impressionist." Mr. Calcagno, now represented by Shuptrine's Gold Leaf Designs, has produced more than 700 paintings in his favorite medium, oil on canvas; 600 are now in private collections.
Mr. Calcagno creates from his studios in Georgia and France. The impressionist influences of Paris and Provence inspire his work. Known for his professional reputation in the Bordeaux region of France, Mr. Calcagno was chosen as the only American jurist in Couleurs-d-Aquitaine, an exposition that will be shown in 22 communities of the southwest part of France, known as the Aquitaine. He was also selected as one of only seven American artists to participate in an exposition in Paris entitled Paris Welcomes American Artists, which will be held Sept. 16-22.
In addition to being a commissioned artist, he is also a contracted published artist for Art in Motion, one of the world’s largest art publishers. This company has marketed his work in seventy countries. Mr. Calcagno is currently exhibiting and selling his art throughout the United States and Europe.
