Evelyn Harper Sample, of Cleveland, TN, died on Saturday, November 15, 2014. 

Evelyn worked as a hairdresser for 45 years.  She owned North Lee Beauty Shop, Tiffanys Hair Design and Blondies Hair Design.  When she had spare time she enjoyed making quilts with her sisters.  She was an avid bowler and loved to play cards with friends.  Evelyn was admired by all who knew her.  She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of North Cleveland Baptist Church for many years. She spent a lot of time reading her Bible.  She was born in Reliance, TN; she was one of 22 children born to Clyde Rebmon Harper and Annie Shamblin Harper.

Mrs. Sample was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ernest E. Sample; her parents, Clyde Rebmon Harper and Annie Shamblin Harper; and twelve brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her three children, Gale Patrick Evans and wife, Jean of Rochester, NY, Ernest Sample, Jr. and wife, Suzette of Tampa, FL and Ginger Sample of Cleveland, TN; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nine brothers and sisters.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 20, at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
