Jamieson G. Nance died on December 30, 2014 at the age of 48.


He was born in Chattanooga, to the union of James and Freddie Nance on April 23, 1966. He was the eldest of two children. He attended New Holy Temple Cathedral Church of God in Christ. He was a graduate of Tyner High School class of 1985. He attended UTC on a football scholarship and was a member of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity.

He is survived by his parents, Elder James and Freddie Nance; two children, Breon and Jamieson Nance II; two sisters, Kimberly (William) Lewis and Vernita (Pastor J. Anthony) Taylor; a granddaughter, Lauren Nance; best friends and brothers, Gerald Harris, Aaron Thomas and Rodney Henderson, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at noon on Saturday, Jan. 3,  at New Holy Temple Cathedral Church of God in Christ, 2311 Bliss Avenue, Chattanooga. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.

The body will lie in state after noon on Friday, Jan. 2. The Phi Beta Sigma fraternity Omega Service will be held at 5:30 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at John P Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
