Charles Neil Elam, of Cleveland, TN, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014, surrounded by family.
He was born in Hickman, KY on July 17, 1939 to the late Marvin Elam and Dolly Terrett Elam. Charles became a Christian in 1973 and he attended Shiloh Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army but found his niche in sales because of his love of talking to people and making friends. He had a quick wit and a generous heart and was always helping others.
He is survived by his wife, Tammie; his sisters, Charlotte Atwill of Fulton, KY and Carolyn Jones and husband, George A. of Cayce, KY; brothers, Bart Elam and wife, Vickie of Leland, NC and Richard Elam of Dyersburg, TN; sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie Lester and husband, Mike and Mike Mitchell and wife, Teresa; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. February 27, at Cayce United Methodist Church in Cayce, KY.
