Martin “Marty” Harrod, 44, of Dalton, GA, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014 while helping others.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ruffin Harrod; grandparents, Dennis and Clara Harrod, Jeff and Mary Gibbs; father-in-law, Roye Chance.
He was a member of Grove Level Baptist Church and a member of the Gideon’s North Camp.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Chance Harrod of the residence; daughter, Dena Harrod; son, Coye Harrod of the residence; mother, Joyce Ann Harrod of Dalton; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Claire and Michael Teem of Acworth; brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Judy Harrod of Dalton; mother-in-law, Odean Chance of Dalton; sister-in-law, Rodena Chance of Dalton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Royce and Denise Chance of Cohutta; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Renetta and Harold Cochran of Dalton; special friend, “Nanny” Betty Jean Green of Carrolton; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Harrod will be held Tuesday, June 10, at 11 a.m. at Grove Level Baptist Church with Dr. Charlie Bridges, Rev. Dan Rice and Greg Sutton officiating. Burial will be in Varnell Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Rob Bowen, Brandon Hall, Brian Mathis, Sage Ralston, Dusty Knight and David Hendrix. Honorary pallbearers will be Rawlings 8 and Under Baseball Team.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, June 9 from 4-8 p.m.
