A Hunter Road woman fired at two men trying to enter her bedroom early Wednesday morning, the Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies were dispatched to the 5600 block of Hunter Road in reference to a burglary in progress. The homeowner told deputies she was awakened by the sound of someone attempting to open her bedroom door. The homeowner retrieved a firearm and fired it at the intruders after they managed to force open the bedroom door.

Neither of the intruders was hit by the round and both fled from the residence.

During the ensuing investigation, and after a lengthy search of the surrounding area, deputies located the suspects hiding in a nearby field.

The two individuals are identified as Michael Blake Delaney, 18, and Nicholas Lester Hanks, 21. Both were arrested and charged with aggravated burglary and conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary.
