Obama Has Tossed Down The Gauntlet - And Response

The new Congress has been sworn in with Republicans promising a new day in which bills can be presented, debated and voted on and voiced hope for bipartisan consideration.  President Obama issued a threat that he would veto anything coming to him that conflicts with his agenda.  The President said that he had thrown down the gauntlet  to the GOP House and Senate.

There are two definitions of doing so.  One is to challenge an enemy to a fight.  The other is to form two lines that are holding clubs and have the victim run between them.  We've been running between them these past six years and our nation has taken a beating.
