Clark Neily
Lee University will welcome Clark Neily on Friday, Nov. 6, at 5:30 p.m. for a lecture titled "The Amoral Constitution (?): Understanding the Legal Commitments of our Legal System.” The event, hosted by Lee’s Department of History, Political Science, and Humanities, will be held in Rose Lecture Hall in the Helen DeVos College of Education.
Mr. Neily is a constitutional lawyer and senior attorney at the Institute for Justice in Washington, D.C. He has argued cases before both the Supreme Court and state courts. He also litigates on constitutional issues involving liberty, property rights, free speech, and school choice.
“Mr. Neily’s firm commitment to both the letter and the spirit of the Constitution makes him an invaluable resource for those wishing to navigate the murky waters of the modern court,” said Dr. Thomas Pope, assistant professor of political science at Lee.
Mr. Neily will lead a brief question and answer session after the lecture. Everyone is welcome to attend, and refreshments will be served.
The event is sponsored by the Charles Koch Foundation, which supports the study of free societies and the ideas, institutions, and values that improve well-being.
