Lebron Morgan, Sr.,  56, died on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at a local hospital.

He was a graduate of Howard School class of 1976, where he was a dominate football and basketball player. He attended Alabama A&M University. He retired from UT-Chattanooga after 36 years of service. He was a member of Greater Faith Temple M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert “Sonny” Morgan; grandparents, Charles J. and LeVora Morgan, Charlie and Ruth Thomas; grandchildren, Mary Tyler, Pierre Hereford and Caivon Welch.

Survivors include his loving wife, Mary E. Morgan; daughters, Octavia Morgan, Kristy Tyler; sons, Lebron (Tessie) Morgan, Clifford (Nina) Welch of Chattanooga; loving mother, Catherine Louise Morgan; sisters, Elizabeth (the late Jackie) Macon, Kathleen (Orlandus) Metcalf, Deborah Morgan, Carlynda (Alfred) Cantrell of Chattanooga; brothers, Robert (Carol) Morgan, Lawrenceville, GA, Charles D. Morgan, Jerome (Teresa) Morgan; mother-in-law, Sallie Mae Eberhardt; 29 grandchildren; a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, cousins, sisters and brothers-in-law; and many friends, including the Howard Class of 1976.

Funeral services will be on Sunday, Aug. 2, at 2 p.m. in the chapel, with Minister Delores Nelson officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.

The body will lie in state after noon on Saturday, Aug. 1, and the family will receive friends from 6–8 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
