Bradley County Sheriff Eric Watson announced Sunday that he is sending Lt. Brian Quinn and Detective Sergeant Kevin Chastain to Conejos County, Colorado to help with the search for Joseph Keller.
Sheriff Watson said, "Joseph Keller is a well-known young man who lived in the Bradley County area and disappeared while on a run in Conejos County, Colorado."
He said the Sheriff’s Office in Conejos County declined the Bradley County Sheriff's Office offer of help on July 29, but on Friday Sheriff Watson received a message asking for the assistance of Bradley County detectives in the investigation.
Sheriff Watson said the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office has stayed in touch daily with Colorado authorities via phone and NCIC, and continues following up leads locally into Mr.
Keller’s activities before he left for Colorado with friends.
Due to the multi-jurisdictional nature of the case, Bradley County investigators have sought and received the help of the Federal Bureau of Investigation as well, in gathering and disseminating information, it was stated.
Sheriff Watson said, “We now have a total of four officers that are assisting the Conejos County Sheriff’s Office in the disappearance of Joseph Keller."
The sheriff concluded by saying, “Joseph Keller and his family are in our thoughts and prayers.”
