Joe Davenport
Joe Davenport, 64, died September 9, 2015 at a local health care facility.
Joe was a graduate of Riverside High School. He formerly resided in Pittsburg for about 12 years. Joe was of the Baptist faith and raised in Tucker Baptist Church.
He was currently employed at Southern Champion Tray Co. He had worked at Gulas Restaurant, Crane Emanel, Shake-Out, Three Rivers Stadium as a vendor, Rock Tenn, Chattanooga Bakery and US Pipe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Davenport and Willie Inez Cohen Davenport; siblings, Sam Davenport, Minnie Davenport, Christine Davenport, William “Mack” Davenport, Betty Rainey and James Henry Davenport.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Sandra Jo Davenport Brown; grandsons, Vincent Shepherd, Teshome Brown; granddaughter, Semeret Brown, all of California; sisters, Carrie Davenport, Johnnie Nance, Shirleen Davenport, Sandra Smith Malone, Diane Williams and Judy Jenkins; brother, Henry Carson; brothers-in-law, Aaron Williams, Arland Jenkins, Sr. and Donald Hinton, all of Chattanooga, TN; friends, Herman Davenport, Kenneth Sanridge, William Springs, Edward Springs, Roger Shepherd; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held at noon on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Lakewood Memorial Gardens – East with Minister Nancy Fitzpatrick officiating.
The body will lie in state after noon on Friday, Sept. 25, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
