ACS Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Announces Reveal Party For Inaugural Real Men Wear Pink Campaign

  • Friday, September 25, 2015

In its inaugural year in Chattanooga, 13 prominent area men will take a stand against breast cancer by supporting the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Chattanooga.  The Real Men Wear Pink Reveal party will take place on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Yacoubian Tailors, 629 Broad St.

During the month of October, the “Real Men” will encourage individuals in their lives and in the community to take action in the fight against breast cancer by learning more about early detection methods and scheduling a mammogram.

In addition to bringing awareness to breast cancer risk and detection, the candidates for Real Men Wear Pink are fundraising for restricted breast cancer research and support programs.

"Last year Making Strides Against Breast Cancer participants raised $90,000 in Chattanooga  for the American Cancer Society to invest in groundbreaking research; provide free, comprehensive information and support to those touched by breast cancer; and help people take steps to reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early when it’s most treatable," organizers said.

For more information, to get help, or to join the fight, visit cancer.org or call 1-800-227-2345 anytime, day or night.
