Peggy Murphy Rector, 81, of Whitwell, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at her home surrounded by family.
Mrs. Rector was preceded in death by her parents, Pete & Cora Mae Murphy; son, Terry Rector; sisters, Evelyn Howard, Nell Henry, Ruth Hollingsworth and Marilyn Johnson; and brother, Paul Murphy;
Peggy retired as a custodian from Jasper High School and was a member of Bethel Incline Church.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Hershel Rector; children, Jennifer (Brent) Frazier of Chattanooga, Kelly Michele (Tim) Kohanski of Nashville, Billy Rector of Jasper, Gene Rector of Atlanta and Patty (Bob) Williams of Tyler, TX; sister, Shella Kilgore of Whitwell; brother, Ray (Wanda) Murphy of Jasper; grandchildren, Rebekah Blake, Jessica Blake, Abigail Blake, Austin Kohanski, Dillon Kohanski, Aviana Kohanski, Jennifer Rector, Josh Rector, Brittany Huffstutter and Danielle Williams; great-grandchildren, Grayson William and Mandi Lee; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Family will receive friends Thursday, Oct. 6 from 3-8 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 7 from 12-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Danny Chance officiating. Interment will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery.
Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
