Dorma Farmer
Dorma Ann Farmer, 68 of Soddy Daisy, died on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at her residence.
She was a lifelong resident of Soddy Daisy and was the owner of Dorma's Beauty Shop for over 20 years.
She was the daughter of the late Elbert and Frances Vickers, and was also preceded in death by her sisters, Shelia Craft, Susie Bowman, Connie Pelfrey, brothers, Harley, James, Gary Vickers.
Dorma was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Daisy Chapter. She and her husband Dwight managed Angels of Mercy Ministries for 10 years. She worked as a volunteer on behalf of youth with developmental disabilities. She was the Chattanooga poster girl for the March of Dimes in 1956. Dorma dedicated her life to helping those less fortunate.
Survivors include her husband, Dwight Farmer, Soddy Daisy; son, Douglas Ray Farmer; grandson, Devon Michael Farmer; sisters, Darlene Deal; all of Hixson; brother, Tony Vickers, Tampa, FL; godson, Coy Dillard; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, in the chapel of Legacy Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Lindon officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton County Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, and from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday at Legacy Funeral Home.
