Margaret Murphy
Margaret Rose Murphy, 61, of Chattanooga, died on Monday, December 12, 2016 in a local hospital.
She was a 1973 graduate of Brainerd High School and was employed by the Tennessee American Water Company for 29 years. Margaret was baptized at New Zion Baptist Church and later in life joined Mt. Canaan Baptist Church where she served on the Nurses’ Guild. In 2014 she became a member of Rock Island Baptist Church.
Margaret was preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry and Alberta Jacobs, Dude and Rose Pringle; her father, Lenion Jacobs. Survivors include her devoted husband, Ronnie Murphy; mother, Mary L. Jacobs of Chattanooga; sisters, Beverly (Byron) King of Lawrenceville, GA and Evelyn (Patrick) Jacobs of Paris, France; nieces, Breona, Bria, Brielle “Christy”, all of Lawrenceville, and Evelyn “Trecey” Owelle of Paris; brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Rueben Murphy; a host of cousins; devoted friends, Monica Holland, Kenya Elston, Gregory Barnes, Val Boyd, and many others.
Visitation is on Monday, Dec. 19, from 5-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, Dec. 20, at noon in the chapel with Pastor Ronald Cook as the eulogist.
